PhasorPoint 3.0 released

Smart Grid applications leader Psymetrix has today (15 December 2008) announced the release of PhasorPoint v3.0. This major release reflects significant new features and enhancements to the PhasorPoint family of Wide-Area Monitoring System (WAMS) and control solutions for the Smart Grid.

PhasorPoint 3.0 additions include a new situational awareness dashboard and real-time mode-phase displays that help identify the geographic distribution of electro-mechanical modes of oscillation. Enhancements in this release also include the ability to annotate any time period of data plus automatic triggered long-term data archiving. The PhasorPoint Phasor Data Concentrator (PDC) now has enhanced output capabilities allowing greater flexibility in aggregating data streams and providing content filtering of output streams. This means for example that commercially sensitive data can be withheld where data output is required for third parties.

Power system operators and planners use Psymetrix's solutions to assist them in avoiding blackouts and to increase the capability of their plant and electricity networks. The PhasorPoint solutions architecture provides a range of flexible and fully scalable building blocks for real-time wide-area monitoring and control, including phasor data concentrators (PDCs) and advanced applications such as the industry-leading Psymetrix oscillation and damping monitoring.
