PhasorPoint 6.0 released
Phasor-based Wide Area Management System (WAMS) and on-line stability leader Psymetrix has today announced the release of PhasorPoint 6.0. This major release reflects a significant new level of investment and focus on WAMS, advanced applications, analytics, and our response to new customers.
Improved functionality in PhasorPoint 6.0 includes user interface improvements such as customisable views and event replay. Customisable tools allow the user to define views, calculations and event management. Historical information may be accessed through an optimised SQL-compliant interface. Scalability has been further improved with PhasorPoint 6.0 benchmarked with over 1000 PMUs.
The range of advanced applications is further enhanced with the addition of two new applications, System Disturbance Monitoring (SDM) and System Condition Monitoring (SCM). SDM is for detecting disturbances, identifying locations and characterizing their impact. SCM is for wide area visualization of system stresses through deviations in voltage magnitude, voltage angle, and frequency.
PhasorPoint is used extensively by operators and planners for improving security, safely increasing power transfer levels and tracking grid performance. Psymetrix is dedicated to providing leading solutions that ease the tasks and challenges of existing and future grid management.
